NSW: Boy accused of pipe death gets bail

A high school student has been granted conditional bail in a Sydney court after being
charged with the manslaughter of a 17-year-old Sydney boy.

The 16-year-old boy from Wentworthville in Sydney's west, was granted bail in Cobham
Children's Court today.

He's required to pay a $2,000 cash deposit, surrender his passport, and adhere to strict
curfews, not leaving his home between 7 pm and 7 am unless he's with his parents.

He must also live with his parents.

STEVEN MUGGRIDGE suffered severe brain damage when someone threw a 50 cm metal pipe
through his car window in Woodcroft in Sydney's west last Friday night.

STEVEN underwent surgery to remove the pipe from his skull, but died in Westmead Hospital
on Sunday.

The matter has been set down for hearing on May 30 at the same court.
