NSW: ADeputy PM extends sympathy to train victims

Deputy Prime Minister JOHN ANDERSON has expressed his sympathy to the families of victims
of today's train crash in the New South Wales Blue Mountains.

Mr ANDERSON, who is also federal Transport Minister, says his federal department has
offered to assist state rail authorities in the investigation.

Six passengers are dead after their CityRail commuter train ploughed into the back
of the Indian Pacific near Glenbrook Station at the foot of the Blue Mountains this morning.

Fifty-one people have been injured in the disaster.
